Securing Safe Food x Commonpoint Queens Food Pantry
Food security starts with accessibility and the power of choice.
The Libi Project had the pleasure of capturing the work of Securing Safe Food, a national nonprofit dedicated to fighting food insecurity among individuals with food allergies and improving access to allergen-free foods.
These photos feature the Commonpoint Queens Food Pantry, where clients select their own food through a digital ordering system - restoring dignity and autonomy while meeting dietary needs. The pantry is also connected to an urban farm that grows culturally relevant vegetables and fruits tailored to the communities it serves, creating a direct connection between food, culture, and care.
There are more than 60,000 food pantries in the U.S. and over 60 million people with food-related conditions. Through partnerships like this one, along with research, education, and advocacy, Securing Safe Food ensures that even those facing food insecurity can access nutritionally balanced, allergen-free options without compromising their health or independence.
